記憶伴隨著時間會从我們手指缝中悄悄溜走，而一件手工做又富含意義的物件卻是我們可以永久保存的，所以在我看來比一顆昂貴的鑽石更有意義價值。
Memories slip through our fingers over the passage of time, a handmade object filled with reminiscence however keeps them alive and remind us that dearest someone or something. Which is why to me their sentimental values far surpasses luxuries like diamonds.

這一個玻璃製的飾品是一件對我很有意義的物件，是一件幫助我紀念我已經去世了的男友的護身符，這三年我每一天都會戴著這個一直保護著我心的它。製作的工匠很貼心的給我錄製了整個燒玻璃和融入骨灰的過程，過程中的儀式既安慰到我也非常尊重過世的人，師傅會說“今天的這場窰燒玻璃是Winnie想用Brandon的骨灰制作一個紀念的黑色玻璃品”，這個過程差不多10分鐘左右，大約就是將一條長長的玻璃棒一邊佔上骨灰一邊把它慢慢的燒得紅燙，再而製作成型。有些人可能會很怕製成品中的骨灰過於明顯，所以會要求把骨灰磨得很細很細，但是我就跟師傅說我想要很清晰的看見每顆顆的骨灰，而且越多越好，我最後想呈現出一條很清晰的銀河路軌，師傅便很小心地一邊燒一邊控制骨灰的份量。

This glass ornament means a great deal to me as It helps commemorate my boyfriend who passed away. I have been wearing it as a an amulet for the past 3 years since. The artisan that helped creating the piece considerately recorded for me the crafting process. It was carried out with such respect that soothed me deeply. "Today's fused glass making session is request by Winnie, by using Brandon's ashes we will be creating a black glass ornament.” Said the artisan. The whole process took around 10 minutes. He first dusted a long glass rod with Brandon’s ashes and slowly heated it up until it turned red, then molded into its desired shape. While some are not too keen on having the ashes in large grain as it would show explicitly and prefer to have the ashes finer. I however specifically requested to show them distinctly, the more the better. As I wanted the final piece to showcase clear spiral arms of a galaxy that is formed by it. The artisan controlled the amount and did his craft perfectly.

我覺得這種加工做出來充滿意義的物件真的非常個人化，有些人可能是親人過世，有些人可能是寵物過世，有一些可能是用小孩掉的乳牙去做一件紀念飾品，甚至年輕一輩把雙方的頭髮融入玻璃再做成一枚獨一無二的結婚戒指。我們東方老一輩的概念會覺得我們不應該把這些東西放到飾品中，但是師傅說其實只要我們換位思考一下，這就跟我們說的結髮夫妻一樣，這個過程甚至給予一種更深的“一生一世一雙人”婚姻意義，真的是一種很暖心的象徵飾品。

I truly believe that personal pieces as such are tremendously intimate. Some uses it to commemorate their loved ones, some their pets. Some might even use children’s deciduous teeth as a record of a certain stage in life. Or younger couples having each other’s hair embedded into glass, turning it into a one-of-kind wedding ring. Older generational belief might consider accessories as such misfortunate. But like the craftsman said to me, it merely resembles how the traditional Chinese used to call married couples “jiefafuqi” (hair-tied-couples). Symbolising a “life-bonding” promise to marriages.

距離這場悲劇已經過去了三年，經過這三年來不停的追查。終於，在2022年1月，我和他的家人收到了他的死亡證明和報告，為我們彼此的回憶畫上一個句號。所以對於我來說這件飾品的製作真的給了我一種安慰，可能有些人會覺得這樣的一件物件不太吉利，但是它卻是把我的一場噩夢變為一個有意義的物件，成為了我的一個靈魂提醒和心臟的保護者。

It has been 3 years of investigation since the tragedy, his family and I have finally received his death certificate and report on January 2022. Finally, there is an end to this heart-breaking tragedy. Which is why this ornament brought to us the much-needed comfort. Some might believe that carrying a piece as such is not a good sign. Yet from my experience this necklace transformed my nightmarish incident into a meaningful blessing, which also became my soul reminder and heart protector.
