• To prevent tangling and scratching, it is recommended to store your jewellery separately in a pouch bag or box when not wearing them.
• Prior to exercise and doing heavy-lifting work, we suggest you to take off your jewellery first to prevent risk of loss or damage to the items.
• Avoid contacting your jewellery with chemicals such as chlorine, perfumes, hairspray, body lotions, and cleaners as they can cause dullness to the metal and damage the gemstones especially pearls.
For Fine Jewellery
It is unlikely to tarnish for 18 karat gold jewellery, although the colour may deepen slightly over time. At Obellery, we offer gold polishing cloth for sale to help maintain the shine and luster of your gold jewellery.
Residue from soap, hand cream, dirt, and finger grease can build up on diamond, causing it to appear dull. To restore its sparkle, gently brush it with warm soapy water using a soft toothbrush. Then rinse the jewellery thoroughly and dry it with a lint-free cloth.
For Silver and Gold-plating Jewellery
Silver and Gold-plating jewellery may tarnished overtime. To restore their shine, you may use silver polishing cloth to rub it or dip it in a jewellery cleaner for approximately 10 seconds. Afterwards, rinse it off with water and dry it with a lint-free cloth.
Please keep in mind that gold-plating will naturally wear off overtime and can be re-applied if desired. We offer three options- 18K yellow/ rose/ white gold for plating. Jewellery with pearls or organic gemstones, such as Opal, cannot be plated. The minimum charge for plating varies depending on the size of the item and starts at HKD$480.
Cleaning tips for tarnished gold-plated silver jewellery with pearls:
• Soak a cotton bud with silver cleaner dip and clean the tarnished area, remember to avoid contact with the pearls
• Rinse the jewellery thoroughly with water and dry it using a lint-free cloth. If the pearls accidentally come into contact with the cleaning liquid, immediately rinse it with water.
