Chan Wing Long 陳詠朗
陳詠朗,2022年畢業於謝菲爾德哈勒姆大學,並投身珠寶設計行業。朗喜歡親手創作的感覺,將設計具象化,目前致力於將身邊常見的事物與對其的感受化成靈感,透過金工表達所見所想。期望在這紛擾的世界中保持感知力,不被生活麻木,並試圖用作品讓人感受生命中被人們認為是常態的另一面。
Chan Wing Long, graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2022 and has since embarked on a career in jewellery design. Long enjoys the tactile process of creation, transforming designs into tangible forms. Currently, he focuses on drawing inspiration from everyday objects and personal perceptions, expressing his observations and thoughts through metalwork. He aspires to maintain a heightened sense of awareness in a chaotic world, resisting the numbness of daily life. Through his work, Lang seeks to reveal another perspective on what people often consider ordinary in life.
DUST
In DUST, Long captures the intangible pressures of modern life and channels them into jewelry, using the tone particles of daily speech and human imagery, combined with abstract facial expressions, to portray the lament of contemporary individuals. These pieces of jewelry serve as tiny mirrors, reflecting the subtle emotions that surface in our everyday interactions—whether it’s the helplessness hidden in tone particles or the confusion and fatigue conveyed through abstract faces.
Like silent poems, they softly narrate how each person strives to adapt in the relentless currents of life, yet struggles to conceal their inner fragility. Through this deeply symbolic form of expression, Long aims to remind everyone pursuing their ideals that, in a fiercely competitive world, our existence may seem as insignificant as specks of dust. However, it is precisely the gathering of these specks that creates the vibrant tapestry of our collective reality. These works are not only interpretations of individual emotions but also reflections on societal conditions, encouraging viewers to pause and confront their inner selves.
